Founded by Fallon Damico, PA-C, the practice was born out of her own frustration with being a stressed out healthcare provider in a corporate system and being on the other side as a patient advocate who didn’t feel heard.

Fallon Damico, PA-C
Founder, Lead Physician Assistant

My passion for caring for others started with a childhood love for animals and a dream of becoming a veterinarian. However, life’s journey led me to seeing the challenges of illness firsthand as my family struggled through my grandfather’s battle with Alzheimer’s. I knew then that not feeling well and not knowing who to trust is terrifying. I went on a mission to become the person people could trust with their health. The one who could provide hope.
I am an Arizona native and truly love it here, so I pursued my bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with honors from ASU. Keeping to my AZ roots, I then got my master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at NAU. For nearly a decade, I’ve found my calling in primary care, hormone replacement, wellness and finding ways to blend Eastern and Western medicine together. I cherish the relationships I’ve built with my patients. I celebrate their wins and I am there for them through their trials.
Pura Primary Care was born out of a dream that primary care could go back to the way it once was. The old-fashioned way when your medical provider knew your whole family and the front office team knew you on a first name basis. I couldn’t more proud that we have created that from the moment you call, to the moment you walk through the door. The business is truly family owned and operated and that is very special to me.
Your health is vital and it shouldn’t be complicated. Wellness comes from treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. Your body wants to be in harmony, and we just have to take the small, collective steps to get there. There may come a day or a season you don’t feel well or like yourself and you need trust that your medical team is in your corner. My promise to you is that I will be there for you along the way.
Michelle Avina
Patient Care Advocate & Medical Assistant
My name is Michelle Avina. I am a Medical Assistant with Pura Primary Care. I graduated from The Bryman School of Arizona in 2010. I have been a Medical Assistant for 14 years. I was inspired to have a career in healthcare when I was about 12 years old, helping my mother take care of my grandmother who was a diabetic on dialysis. It was a rewarding feeling.
Since I have been an MA most of my career has been with geriatric patients. Assisting patients with their acute and chronic ailments gives me that same rewarding feeling I had when I would help my grandmother. I wouldn’t change it for the world. I love what I do and the team that I work with. I am looking forward to meeting new patients and continuing to help established patients and being a part of all their health journeys.

Hi, I’m Donnell, and my passion is people. I have been in healthcare for over 30 years as a Practice Manager. My philosophy is and will always be that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. I would like to say that I am a curator of people that truly work together and prioritize every patient’s healthcare journey. Here at Pura Primary Care we have an amazing team of educated, experienced and compassionate people. We are your team, and we will always make you a priority!
I have been married to the love of my life for 29 years!! Yep, 29 years! We have one son who is our pride and joy. He is currently attending college to pursue a career in medicine. In my spare time I enjoy shopping, baking chocolate chip cookies, eating them and decorating my home.
